Classic Chicken Noodle Soup

Classic Chicken Noodle Soup by Stuffy Muffy

A couple of weeks ago, our entire household succumbed to the stomach bug—one by one like dominos. I know Chez Muffy was one of many to go down hard so I thought I’d share a surefire way to recalibrate post-virus: Classic Chicken Noodle Soup. This particular recipe makes a lot of soup, presumably because one will be repeating this meal until a regular diet resumes.

I like to use bone broth for added protein and richer flavor while a garnish of parsley adds the gourmet touch you’ll likely be longing for. You may try bone-in chicken breasts for a more traditional preparation. On the wellness front, I’ve always been very woo-woo and am sharing my favorite products below. You can trust my tightly edited stash, I’ve tested just about everything. Stay well, dears!

Woo-Woo Wellness

  • Immunity Activator: Whenever someone comes home with a sniffle, I start administering these drops. They really work and most of the time we stay healthy (should I knock on wood?). They were recommended to me at Whole Foods years ago and I have stocked them ever since. I can’t find them at my location anymore but have had luck on Amazon. The taste is earthy but not jarring.
  • Magnesium Gummies: Three of these delicious watermelon magnesium gummies ten minutes before bed and it is LIGHTS OUT. I have a surplus of these bottles because I can’t live without their fast to fall and stay asleep effects. One before nightly routines for children and suddenly bed time is a breeze. Available at Whole Foods or via Amazon.
  • Athletic Greens AG1: My mornings have started with a glass of Athletic Greens AG1 for the last year and a half. I think of it as my insurance policy in case I go off the rails with what’s on my plate. It has pre and probiotics built in along with 75 other vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. I enjoy the pineapple-ish vanilla taste and never travel without it.
  • Superieur Electrolytes: I’ve tried practically every powdered and bottled electrolyte on the market and they’re all just too saccharine for my liking. This brand was recommended by a friend and it has quickly become my favorite thing to drink post workout or on days I’m feeling dehydrated. My children clamor for it too. Available via Amazon.
